The Rainbow Charity for children with autism is organizing a 2 day VB-MAPP workshop with Mark Sundberg in London on 26th & 27th September 2008.

Designing a language curriculum and intervention program for children with autism using the VB-MAPP
What will the workshop cover?

The first day of the workshop will focus on how to use the VB-MAPP to determine the specific language, learning, and social needs of a child with autism or language delays, as well as the barriers that may affect a specific child. The second day will focus on designing and implementing an individualized intervention program based on the results of the VB-MAPP. Participants will learn some of the most recent intervention procedures for teaching mands, tacts, intraverbals, social interaction, and listener skills.

The second day will focus on current issues in the educational treatment for children with autism, the importance of including natural environment teaching along with intensive teaching, pairing and automatic reinforcement, play and social skills, data collection, motivation operations, behavior problems, and augmentative communication.

BACB CE credits available.

Venue: Central London - venue to be confirmed.

Cost: £250 per person (incl. morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch) for both days.
